Chesterfield House is a specialist community facility registered with the Care Quality Commission.

The home offers a structured living environment for up to six adults aged eighteen and over, who have a diagnosed learning disability and complex needs.

We provide everyone living at Chesterfield House with opportunities to develop personally and enjoy an enhanced quality of life. We promote the principles of “an ordinary life” and we encourage and support individuals to participate in a variety of activities both in-house and in the wider community.

Chesterfield House is located within walking distance of North Hykeham centre, which offers a range of amenities including shops, sports and recreational facilities, and religious facilities. Lincoln city centre and the market town of Newark are both a short drive away.

The home has six single bedrooms; three with en suite facilities. The ground floor features a large kitchen and laundry room, which clients are encouraged to use with our support. In addition, there is a spacious lounge and dining room, sitting room and multifunction room on the ground floor, with access to a large patio area and attractive, sizable gardens.

All elements of our work with the people living at Chesterfield House are focused around person-centred care plans which promote independence.

We work in partnership with clients, purchasers, case managers, carers and others who are integral to the wellbeing of the individual. This ensures that our clients are involved in all aspects of the planning and evaluation of their care.

We consider each individual’s needs as part of their care plan and, where appropriate, we actively encourage contact with family and friends.

Visitors are welcome at Chesterfield House and we operate a flexible visitors’ policy.

Each individual has a personalised programme of activities which is reviewed on a weekly basis. As well as taking part in the day-to-day running of the home and improving their independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning and maintaining the garden, we encourage clients to develop new interests in the wider community.
We provide learning sessions and activities in house. However, a number of people take part in community activities and education. In addition, individual outings and regular group excursions are arranged for clients.
